As promised, a few articles to give an impression of the kind of work I did at the Skidmore News. You'll notice that the title on the byline jumps around a bit -- I held a lot of jobs at the newspaper, from Managing Editor all the way down to A&E. Click on any story for a PDF, or click here for a copy of Acrobat Reader.
- Skydiving Feature - A first person feature about a skydiving firm near the town where I went to school. Scary as hell. I revisited this story after I started Toner Magazine.com, using it as the basis for a piece called "The Fall," which I wrote under the pen name "Todd Gordon" (link). That piece was later recorded -- you can find it in the radio section.
- Too Drunk to Dance - A page one (or "page six" as the alt-weeklies call it) hard news story about the very last "Diva Night," where seven students ended up in the hospital. It used to be the biggest dance of the year. Then these students almost died. Now they don't do it anymore.
- Iraq Protesters - A nice little story about protesters during the early days of the Iraq war.
- Field Hockey Team Knocked Out of the Playoffs - A nice little sports story to round things out.
